MEDICINE RECALL - HIBERIX VACCINE
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the manufacturer of Hiberix (Hib) vaccine has initiated a recall of a single batch of HIBERIX. Main points are:
- children who have been vaccinated with affected Hiberix do not need to be recalled and/or revaccinated
- practices should isolate any affected vaccine they have in their fridge
- GSK will recover affected vaccine directly from practices
- if practices need to reorder supplies of Hiberix they will have to do a count of whole stock on hand before requesting further supplies from Qld Health
